Synergies here with Brady’s first Super Bowl appearance against the Rams in Super Bowl 36. First the Bucs suffered their 5th loss of the season to the Chiefs and haven’t lost since. The same exact thing happened to Patriots in back in 2001… they lost their 5th game of season to Rams and then didn’t lose a game again.

The Patriots and the Buccaneers would then go on to face the Rams and Chiefs in the Super Bowl — The “Rams were the greatest show on turf” and the Chiefs are essentially the scariest offense we’ve seen in a long time.

Nice. Actually a good place for me to attempt to equate an Andy Reid /Eagles fans take into the mix

DOB. Help me w a half-baked theory here:

Last year when Andy Reid won SB with KC, Eagles fans were generally

1) happy for him

2) not happy for him

3) it’s wasn’t even a big enough deal to have an opinion on?

1) happy for him. Definitely. He was the best coach in our history to that point but ended poorly with a 3 win season and lots of bad signings, and replacing coaches who were hired away (promoting his offensive line coach to defensive coordinator???) his son also died of an OD while they were all in training camp at Lehigh in one of the last years. He was here for something like 14 seasons and had great success overall but it was one of those unique situations where both sides agreed it had run its course.

Nobody is upset with Andy Reid or the decision to fire him 8 years ago. There’s a contingent of zealots who are not able to root for a different team and think eagles fans who do are traitors- but there is no significant group of eagles fans actively rooting against him.

Also if KC wins ... Reid retires and Eric B gets HC job

Christmas List for the New England Patriots

The 2-5 Patriots would be 4-3 at best if they still had Brady -- so who cares, moving on was still the right decision for Tom and for the New England.

Bill is still rolling the dice that this season might not finish or that other teams will get caught with bad health luck and they could be in the mix at 8-8 or 9-7 for that 7 seed

Bill chould pull a FULL TANK and lose 9 more in a row, including 2 to the Jets — just to troll them in the most inexplicable way possible

AB is a fantasy football legend, he’s a real football legend. He was having a Hall of Fame career in Pittsburgh.

He no-shows the regular season finale of 2018 for the Steelers.

He signs with the Raiders.

He shows up for camp in a hot air balloon.

His feet have frost bite from a Cryongenic Freeze chamber treatment thing in Europe.

He refuses to play with a league approved helmet for like 2 weeks.

Finally gets beyond the helmet thing… and then after all that … the weirdness goes into overdrive

He gets fined… he puts the fine on social media.

The then has an altercation with the team GM

He then says he’s sorry.

He then has some video montage paired with a phone call of Jon Gruden and AB as the audio and tweets out - Release me @Raiders

Raiders comply… and the jokes about the Patriots signing AB begin immediately.

Then like 2 hours later the Patriots actually sign Antonio Brown.

This is like the signings of Randy Moss + Corey Dillon + Chad Ocho Conco + Albert Haynesworth x 6pounds of crazy pills combined

On the spectrum of Patriots have lost their minds on one end and the Patriots are playing chess while the league plays checkers on the other end… where does this roster move rate for you right now?

With the Patriots playing the Steelers tonight - isn’t this timing and hoopla the exact type of thing they Patriots work so hard to avoid?

The debate is over. Only take - Peyton Manning was close and he came in with more raw talent and an unbelievable work ethic. But, Brady’s competitiveness drove him to work as hard as Manning. It’s like Bill Russell and Wilt Chamberlain. They drove each other. 

But the crazy thing is Brady is getting 2 different careers: Brady and Manning were like Larry and Magic — the two of them cost each other at least 2 more championships each.

No Tom Brady and Peyton Manning probably wins 4 and goes to 7 super bowls.

No Peyton Manning and Tom Brady probably wins 7 and goes to 11 super bowls.

But, Brady somehow extended his career, and with manning gone he’s more like Michael Jordan — basically peerless, and more competitive and more experienced than anybody left standing.

A couple of weeks ago we said that the teams we’d like to see in the Super Bowl ranked most to least:

Patriots 

Chargers (tortured base, that was just abandoned)

Chiefs (officially a tortured fan base)

Saints (starting to become a tortured fan base) - and for decades they were before Brees ad Payton showed up

Rams (abandoned their fan base, but also returned to their original home, so I feel like their mojo is just getting started) — Several parallels to the 2001 Patriots 

3 way tie for last Cowboys, Colts, & Eagles. 

Patriots 10 super bowls - played Bears, Packers, Rams, Panthers, Eagles, Giants x2, Seahawks, Falcons, Eagles (0-2 vs NFC north, 2-0 vs NFC South, 1-3 vs NFC east, 2-0 vs NFC west)

Patriots update week 16 - their D is good - but Brady and Gronk are backsliding hard and fast.

The 2018 Patriots team has three outcomes for the post season:

1) They’ll ride a “Solid D” and “Ball Control Offense” to a Super Bowl title like the 2001 Pats.

2) They’ll somehow make the Super Bowl and get routed by a superior opponent like the 1985 and 1997 Pats.

3) They’ll lose in the first round like the 2005 and 2010 Pats — signs point to Door Number 3.

I’m going to keep grinding on this thing, trying to grow it - and when the freestyle turns 4 this january — Drew Brees (saints QB will turn 40) which means if the saints make Super Bowl, we’d have 2 different 40 years old’s start at QB in consecutive super bowls. I think it’ll happen. Also, why does nobody give Drew Brees the same “ageless wonder” credit they give Tom Brady — he’s also basically 5’11’’ - what he does is amazing 

Biggest issues w jay bilas’ “restructuring of college basketball”

If we take out amateurism- what happens to “max years of eligibility” - if it’s a business- you can’t tell employees they’re too old 

If we downsize division 1 - then many average teams that pad their win totals currently, will be exposed as being bad. Fans don’t flock to see bad teams.

Down sizing also makes it “minor leagues”. Americans don’t like minor league sports en masse. 

College basketball being an “open entry national championship” is the best thing it has going for it. Limiting d1 teams to like 80 is bad Idea. 

Only good way to downsize d1 - would be adopting soccer style promotion and relegation - and March madness would still need to be open entry- in fact it could be like the FA cup. That actually could expand March madness

Players should get to profit from their likeness. Period. Open market decides what they are worth. If they want a salary they should go to the G league or play overseas. If they’re not good enough to get endorsements and/or play in a professional league, then guess what - they’re not professional 

Americans don’t like minor league sports. You remove amateurism ethos- I think you kill the mystique and kill the golden goose 

I hate when 23 year olds on instagram try to give sage drinking advice to their 19 year old selves. Me at 19 vs me at 23. Listen if you can’t find an extra gear at 23, you’re doing it wrong. 

The only thing that should slow you down before age 27 is lack of money and/or having a child - anything else - you’re doing it wrong.

Can the Philadelphia Eagles repeat? Mid-term Mania. This Red Sox Parade was more than just Duck Boats!

Was 2018 the first “eff you parade” in Boston sports history? 

Seems like that attitude was pure jubilation and feeling bullet proof as a fanbase. 

Price has his eff you parade for towards then fans. 

The Boston sports fans had theirs towards the philly fans for stealing a super bowl.  

This title was a collective realization that even if Tom Brady is never gonna win another and even if the pats go back to being bad... Boston fans just realized - as long as the Sox have good ownership and tons of 💰- we have a franchise that’s won 4 titles in 15 seasons with 3 diff managers... dozens of different players. Hockey is super random. And Boston Celtics aren depended on outsmarting opponents because it’s tough for them  to get free agents. But the Sox - they can miss and take years off and hit bottom, but they’ll always get it right a couple times a decade

The Sox were our city’s first love and are now our best hope to keep the party going once the pats dynasty is no more

You know how airports have the bag sizing apparatus- so they can nix certain bags from carry on? They should have one for passengers - and ban certain people from sitting in the middle seats in coach

Amazing to see that many people (mainly comprised of women) band together around the nation - and throughout parts of the world

Where was this mobilization and energy during october and november? More importantly why wasn’t it there? Were people too confident that Hillary would prevail? 

Can women band together like that to drive the result of the 2018 midterm elections? 

They only way to beat small minded voters and essentially Tea Party voters is by finding a way to get Congress Back — essentially it’s time to think globally and act locally about politics and liberals have a nasty habit of being less focused during the midterm elections. The issue is 2/3’s of congress gets elected during the midterm elections. 

I’m starting with the man in the mirror on this one — i’ve only voted in a midterm election once, and starting in 2017 I will. I’m even going to start voting every local elections

We are less than 22 months away from the midterm elections — the nasty women need to nasty then — do you think they can sustain this momentum? And/or summon it when it’s time? And to all the “Dead Beat voters” aka the 50% of the electorate who sat 2016 out — get your crap together and vote — even if you right in mickey mouse — do not no show — it’s a shame that 25% of the country voted for this guy and he won cuz 50% of the country didn’t give a crap — and i’d say the same for hillary winning.

3. If Zach De La Rocha won’t rejoin Rage - Bruce Springsteen Should — this would really tick of Rosco P of Drilling 3’ by the way 
4. Michael Bloomberg should run as a Republican in the 2020 Primary - Forcing Donald’s hand to spend money to get nomination
5. Michael Bloomberg should then run as in Independent in the 2020 General Election — 67% change Either he’ll win, or the Dem nominee will win and trump will get way less than total of 50% of total vote — further diminishing his fake mandate 
6. People should refer to Trump as “Interim President” until and unless he can win a second term in 2020
