Wine, Wall & Dragons Season 8 Episode 2

Cindy is “so nervous”

#DragonSeason #PeepingBran

If last week was to help get us caught up on the plot, this week was to give us one more trip down memory lane with all of the characters we love, before they become zombies.

Opening - Jamie is on Trial before Dany and the Starks

Jamie says Cersei lied, and talks about the Golden Company

Bran “the things we do for love” call back from 2011

Brienne of Tarth - sticks up for Jamie - vouches for him. Jon Snow backs Sansa. Dany isn’t happy on bit.

Bran is PEEPING - odd scene

Tyrion admits that “he’s a fool” not a traitor.

Gendry is making Dragonglass Weapons to the sounds of ominous music. Arya shows up. Some odd “tension” - and Arya is asking about fighting white walkers, wha they’re like etc. - I know death, i look forward to seeing this version

Jamie and Bran at the Weirwood tree. Jamie apologizes. You won’t be able to help us in this fight if I let them murder you first.

How do you know that there is “an afterwards”?

Tyrion walking the yard in Winterfell and talking with Jamie. Jamie and Tyrion are talking about Dany and Cersei.

Tyrion is thinking about the reality of dying at Winterfell.

Jamie and Brienne checking out Podrick’s sword work.

Dany and Jorah Mormot have a meeting. (There’s been a fireplace next to Dany in each of her first two scenes).

Dany and Sansa conversation - Families are complicated. We’re at odds with one another, why? Who manipulated whom? Someone taller line about who loved Dany.

“What about the North?” from Sansa — BOOM! this is a big issue.

Theon shows up - at worst possible time. Sansa is pumped to have Theon back.

Davos serving food to the folks at winterfell, and recruiting soldiers.

Little girl with facial scars - wants to fight. Gilly convinces her to “defend the crypt”.

Dolorus Edd and Tormand show up — Jon has a great reunion. “The Big Woman still here?”

Bran - the Night King will come for me. He wants an endless night. He wants to erase our memory.

Bran is gonna lay a trap in the Godswood. Theon is gonna guard him.

Tormand - we’re all going to die, at least we’ll die together.

Tyrion pulls up a chair to hear about Bran’s journey

Grey Worm and Missandre - the northern girls seems weirded out. Greyworm is looking to “retire to the beach” after this war is over.

Sam and Jon: “You told her yet?”

Tyrion and Jamie “I wish father were here”.

Tormand and Brienne - spitting hot game. I killed a giant when i was 10 and climbed right into bed with his wife… Giants MILK - LOLZ x 1,000

The Hound and Arya chatting on the wall. Berric Dondarion shows up. And Berric apologizes. I”m not spending my final hours with you two miserable old sh*ts.

Gendry makes Arya her weapon. Gendry tells her he’s Robert Barratheons’ bastard. Arya and Gendry are about to get it on.

Back at the “fireside chart” - waiting for a little “Show me the way to go home” from Jaws. And Tyrion literally suggests a song? Podrick delivers

Tyrion says “I think we might live”. Jamie “knights” Brienne of Tarth.

Jorah getting scolded by his cousin Lyanna Stark. Sam gives Jorah his family’s Valaryan steel sword.

Jon and Dany in the Crypts - awkward AF - BAD TIMING — with the Army of the Dead coming

#DragonSeason

Dan O’Brien has had “brutal sound quality” — we’ll see if we can engineer a solution.

Wine, Wall & Dragons Season 8 Episode 1

opening - little kid running in the snow - the unsullied have come to Winterfell- and there’s thousands upon thousands of them.

Jon and Dany ride together to Winterfell - Arya sees Jon for first time and she sees the Hound and Gendry - Family Reunion for Arya.

The Two Dragons make their entrance  - dramatic as always.

Bran is waiting for Jon - the whole crew is. Its amazing how far flung all of these characters have been until this moment.

Bran breaks the news on Ice Dragon - and wastes no time doing so.

Lyanna Mormot throwing lots of shade at Jon for “bending of the knee”.

Sansa is worried about groceries  - seems about right.

Tyrion and Sansa have their first awkward convo since Joffrey’s wedding. Sansa gives Tyrion some hot truth on Cersei bailing on him.

Jon and Arya reunion got a little bit dusty in my house - "You used to me taller”, line was good.

Kyburn tells Cersei the dead have broken through the wall — and she says “good”. Euron has the Iron Fleet off the shores of King’s Landing.

Yara - still a prisoner.

Golden Company - 20,000 men 2,000 horses - zero elephants. Captain Strickland is the leader of the Golden Company - nothing like a new character with 6 eps left.

Bronn in the house of ill repute as usually / Kyburn with the C-Block and wants to make a deal to do so. She wants Bronn to kill Jamie and Tyrion with a cross bow. Weird Flex. And she cranked Euron Greyjoy and lamented about not getting Elephants from Golden Company

Theon is breaking Yara out of jail — wow first episode. Yara and Theon are making for Pyke and the Iron Islands.

We’ve now got 3 queens - in the realm.

Davos - proposing a marriage between Dany and Jon — eek — when’s Bran gonna break the news.

Is Jon going to ride Rhaegal ??? HOLY ESS! Jon’s riding a Dragon Ep 1 — BOOM!

Water Fall love scene - call back to the old wildling watering hole. Drogon EYE BALLING Jon Snow. he’s a peeping tom!

Gendry, Hound and Arya reunion. It was pretty comical.

Jon Snow and Sansa — doing the old “you bent the knee” argument, again.

Sam Tarly ! With Jorah and Dany! BOOM! Then she learned she burned his dad and brother. Tough look, tough moment.

Sam and Bran gonna talk. Sam is going to have to tell Jon. This is going to get complicated AF. Jon is Aegon the 6th — hell of a moment.

Tormund, Berric and the boys - walk into a murder scene

The Umber Boy is dead and the Night king had him pinned to wall. He’s a wight - and it’s creepy AF.

Jamie arrives in Winterfell - Bran is eyeballing him from Jump Street.

2019 NFL Playoff Teams as Game of Thrones characters (Part 1)

2019 NFL Playoff teams as Game of Thrones Characters

Congrats to Dan Ruttle on winning the Filibuster Freestyle Fantasy Football Championship - the aptly named “Valaryian Steelers”

Indianapolis Colts - Theon Greyjoy (at the end of season 7). They started 1-5, there were question marks if they’d ever get back their pride (deflate gate, Andrew Luck injuries, Owner having public substance abuse issues, Josh McDaniel big timing them at the alter). this is all like Theon’s run of bad decisions, spineless decisions and dishonorable decisions, but on Dragonstone, theon Head butted his way back to the respect of his men, and is now on the hunt for his sister Yara. IN essence he’s got his mojo back and the Colts do to. I don’t think they’ll have any shot at the throne, but they’re once again an interesting component of this narrative

Houston Texans - Berric Dondarrion - they were 0-3 and seemed dead. Deshaun Watson had a catastrophic leg/knee injury - but he regained his form and the Texans regained their’s. I’m not sure that Bill O’Brien is Thoros of Myr - but either way, as reincarnations in GOT go, i’m not sure the Texans are ready to be Jon Snow or even the mountain in terms of rising up… but at the very least — they’ve got a new lease on life for sure.

Seattle Seahawks - The Seahawks are Jorah Mormot. They rose up from disgrace back in the day to become major players under Pete Carroll. Then they were cast aside, and left for dead (gray scale), but somehow found a way to get cured, cleanse themselves and get back onto the right side of the narrative. I’m not sure that they’re road this year leads them all the way to glory, but they’ve got  mix of luck, skill and knowledge that could keep them alive.

Dallas Cowboys - I’m going with Tywin Lannister (father to Jamie & Cersei and allegedly Tyrion) because I think Jerry Jones is more like Tywin Lannister than another NFL owner. Overbearing, always asserting himself into the narrative, seems to have the deepest pockets and eventually get his way. Some love him, more fear him, but most just can’t stand him.
