If you graduated high school between 1994 and 1998 Eddie Money - you were just old enough to love Eddie Money in the moment and just young enough for your psyche to think it was more than ok to love Eddie Money forever.

As we’ve tweeted Eddie Money filled the gap between Huey Lewis & White Snake at a time when America actually wanted and needed that gap to be filled.

Take me home tonight - might be one of the 20 anthems of the 1980’s - certainly of the mid-80s - it came out in 1986

That song would qualify as one of the best one hit wonders ever — except Eddie Money was not a one hit wonder. Not even close

He recorded 5 album’s before his 1986 album “Can’t Hold Back”

"Two Tickets to Paradise” #22 and "Baby Hold On” #11 both were on his self titled debut record from 1977. Two Tickets is still relevant

"Maybe i’m a fool" #22 off of 1979’s life for the taking

1980’s Playing for keeps album had some modest success with 3 singles charting between 46, 65, and 78 respectively

Took him until 1982 to get another top 20 hit with “Think I’m in Love” off of the “No Control” album. But that record also featured “Shakin” which at the time charted as #63 as a single, but you show me how those 62 songs in front of it from 1982 hold up - cuz Shakin is more popular now than it was in 1982

1983’s “Where's the Party?” album was another dip for Eddie Money.

But 1986 and Eddie Money had a date with destiny and each other in the form of “Can’t Hold Back”

"Take me home tonight” charted at #4, "I wanna go back” charted at #14, “Endless Nights” charted at #21, and even “We should be sleeping” charted at #90

And he follows it up with 1998’s Nothing to Lose album which features “Walk in Water” which charted at #9 and "the Love in your Eyes" #24, and even “let me in” #60

1991 wasn’t very kind to any 80’s rockers but Eddie’s “Right Here” album did better than you’d think - certainly better than many others of his genre

But 1995’s “love and money” and 1999’s Ready Eddie albums - yeah the wheels started coming off of the money man’s “hit train”

Tried at remake/cover album in 2007 called “Wanna Go Back” none of those covers crossed over

Finally in July of 2019 - he released “Brand New Day” album - 11 songs

I hope it goes platinum - the fact that he made music as the end was near — pretty cool
